CPP41519 Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis

Understand the threat. Assess the risk. Advise with confidence.

About this Qualification

Organisations need people who can read the current threat environment and turn it into clear, practical security advice.

CPP41519 Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis develops the skills to identify threats, assess vulnerabilities and conduct security risk assessments of client operations. You’ll also learn to advise clients on protecting people, property and assets.

This course takes the crowded places specialisation. It builds on Australia’s Strategy for Protecting Crowded Places from Terrorism, so you can assess and advise on security for venues, events and public spaces. You’ll also develop security risk management plans, apply security procedures to critical infrastructure and public assets, and communicate security awareness and briefings.

AFSI is an ADF veteran-owned registered training organisation that has specialised in security, investigations and risk training since 1994. You’ll learn from practitioners, using realistic scenarios drawn from the environments you’ll work in.

Who this course suits

This course suits people working in, or moving into, roles such as:

  • security risk analyst or security risk adviser
  • event or venue security manager
  • anyone planning further study in security risk management

How your course runs

Stage 1: Prepare online (6 weeks)
Complete your knowledge assessments in the learning portal (aXcelerate), at your own pace. If you are applying for RPL, this is also when you submit your evidence.

Stage 2: Face-to-face classes (5 days)
Five days of practical, scenario-based classes with your trainer. Choose a virtual classroom through Microsoft Teams, or an in-person classroom at our Fyshwick training facility.

Stage 3: Finish online (your pace)
Complete your remaining self-paced online learning and assessments to finalise your qualification. You have up to 12 months from enrolment to complete everything.

The face-to-face classes are where you practise real-world risk scenarios with your trainer, so this qualification isn’t offered fully self-paced.
